Yanni sneaks onto rooftops both to get a better view of the city and for the thrill of trangression. We talked about how buildings in New York are a manmade topography. Yanni grew up in Greece where mountains gave an overview of the cities. Rooftops are the substitute for this in New York, letting us see a larger pictures while we can also focus in on individual details.
